Puppy Power prides itself on the personal way of training that we offer, either in a small class or on a one to one basis. We only use positive methods of training and can happily show you how to get the best relationship with your dog.
We believe that consistency in training and simply spending time with your dog is key and if we can do this for our dogs, we promise you will see the positive results.
Whether you have a new puppy, a ‘deaf’ adolescent dog or maybe a dog with a more specific behavioural issue, we can spend time with you and your furry kid to explain how we can assist you. Sometimes what may appear to be a huge problem can have the simplest of fixes.
We are based in Cape Town and are currently running our classes at Alphen Veterninary Hospital, 10 Constantia Main Road, Constantia. If you don’t want to go to a group lesson you are more than welcome to book a private lesson with us, just give us a call.

With 2 woofs going through Puppy Power over the years, we are so happy with the progress they make week after week. Dave is patient and kind and gives the best advice to raise the most well trained pups.Posted on Colleen ClackworthyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. David is incredibly with puppies He is gentle and encouraging and I was amazed at what Skye my new baby managed to achievePosted on Danielle HackettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently finished the puppy school course with my pup, Olso, and the experience was excellent. He picked up so many practical skills we use every day—loose-leash walking, reliable recall, calm greetings, 'leave it', stay command, settling around distractions and lots more. The lessons were well-structured with clear, bite-sized steps and simple homework that made practice at home easy. David is an excellent teacher: patient, knowledgeable, and great at tailoring advice to each dog. He explained the “why” behind each exercise, offered quick fixes for small issues, and kept the classes positive and focused. We saw Olso’s confidence and manners improve each week. Thank you again!Posted on Helen MalgasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We really enjoyed our training with David. Our boys, Nikolaj and Jackson, were initially quite anxious but David offered advice on how to manage their anxiety and we can really see the difference. David was great with our dogs as well as my two teens who were training the dogs. Thank you so much David! We will see you in 2026 in high school.Posted on Tracy BissetTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My dog and I participated in the puppy and teenager classes with David. Learnt so much... he basically trains the owner to train the dog which I finally realised by the 3rd class!! Still using his training tools daily. He makes the best liver bread treats. I am very surprised at the negative post as his classes are well worth the money and he is a fantastic trainer and person. Fun homework from each class ensures the the dog and owner build on the basics.
Before you get a dog, you can't quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can't imagine living any other way
